Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. There are more than 20 albums that were released by her. DiFranco classifies her music as folk-rock or alternative. But it includes influences like punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as the feminist's icon and Grammy award-winning musician is thought to be to be the first founder in DIY music. She was among the very first musicians to establish their own labels in 1990. The parents of DiFranco, Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each other while they were both attending.
